I'm in the process of finishing up a beginner level 3ds Max tutorial that I should be posting to the site before the weekend.
I will also be collecting some frequently asked questions regarding 3ds Max and Photoshop to try and put together a comprehensive list of the various ways new users (and more advanced users like me too, more times than I care to say) can foul up an interface and not figure out how to recover.
An example would be the invisible cursor trick in Photoshop. For some reason beyond my limited capacity to understand, hitting the caps lock button while in Photoshop will toggle your cursor/paint brush to become invisible. Just like the hot key in Flash that makes your library vanish and return, I don't really see a benefit in this shortcut (or in making your cursor invisible at all, for that matter), but it's something I frequently see new users do, and freak out because they can't figure out where their cursor went.
The FAQ will be an ongoing thing. When I have enough things gathered, that one will be posted in the appropriate section(s) as well.
