The last month or so I've been back to work on the Farmhouse project. The last time we saw it, the major modeling of the exterior and interior was complete.
In the past few weeks, I have re-tooled some of the modeling to give it greater detail (stairs, doors, hinges, etc) and added a ton of detailed texture work. I'm currently in the process of wrapping up details like light fixtures and counter tops, plumbing, and other similar miscellaneous stuff, as well as slicing up the house to be imported into Daz Studio.
Ultimately, the house will be a perfect and supremely usable environment for Daz scenes. It currently has 57 individually removable pieces to allow room for cameras and shot-specific lighting; animated doors and windows with their own sliders; and the best detail in my opinion are the dummy objects I placed in the center of each room for quick zooming through the house with the camera. It's really easy to move around inside there without a lot of hassle. If you've ever tried to move a camera through the interior of a really large environment, you'll know what I'm talking about.
Here are a few WIP renders using 3Delight in Daz Studio 4.6.
There are a few "known issues" besides being generally incomplete: the roofs need displacement maps, the terrain is placeholder, the raytracing and pixel samples on the glass isn't high enough to do away with artifacts, and a lot of details like exterior light fixtures and landscaping are missing. All things in time.
I'm hoping to have this wrapped up by the weekend, but it might run into next week depending on how much I decide to add.
